Diversity in Medicine Request for Proposals FY2025

The Associated Medical Schools of New York (AMSNY) seeks proposals for the Diversity in Medicine Program for the program year beginning July 1, 2024 and ending June 30, 2025. Eligible entities include medical schools in New York State, academic institutions affiliated with medical schools in New York State and other nonprofit organizations affiliated with medical schools in New York State. 

AMSNY aims to support programs that offer opportunities to talented students who are committed to becoming physicians and who have demonstrated resilience in overcoming adversity on the path to medical school. Students in AMSNY-supported programs are committed to addressing healthcare disparities and health inequities through medicine, science, research and advocacy.

The application cycle is now open. 

To be considered for funding, proposals should be submitted no later than 11:59 PM EST on May 3, 2024.

The 2024-25 Diversity in Medicine RFP has three focus areas for funding:

Opportunity 1: Exposure to Medicine

Programs that support students interested in applying to medical school. These programs will enroll students earlier in the educational continuum, up to and including undergraduate or graduate students.

Opportunity 2: Recruitment to Medicine

Programs that support students in the precursor year of medical school matriculation. Examples include pre-medical post-baccalaureate programs and medical school reapplication programs.

Opportunity 3: Retention in Medicine

Programs that support current medical students in their medical education and training.
