Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine Student Wins “National Student DO of the Year”
February 04, 2014 – Michael Erickson, a third year medical student at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) in Harlem, has won the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) 2014 “National Student DO of the Year” Award.

Montefiore Einstein Center for Cancer Care Director Named Editor-In-Chief of Cancer Gene Therapy
January 30, 2014 – Steven Libutti, M.D., F.A.C.S., professor and vice chairman in the Department of Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University, director at the Montefiore Einstein Center for Cancer Care and professor in the Department of Genetics and associate director of clinical services at Albert Einstein College of Medicine has been named Editor-in-Chief of Cancer Gene Therapy, a journal for cancer researchers and clinicians.

Brian Radbill, MD, FACP Named Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs for Mount Sinai Queens
January 21, 2014 – Brian Radbill, MD, FACP, a 15-year veteran of the Mount Sinai Health System, has been named Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs for Mount Sinai Queens. In that position, Dr. Radbill will oversee the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused medical care by almost 500 physicians in nearly 40 different medical and surgical specialties and sub-specialties. The appointment was announced by Caryn Schwab, Executive Director of Mount Sinai Queens.

Physician Assistant Program Meeting Demand of Growing Health Field
February 12, 2014 – “The increase in applicants, sparked by a growing demand for physician assistants across the country, allows us to be increasingly selective in our admissions,” said David F. UR Medicine Recognized for Stroke Care, Launches Neurocritical Care Program
February 04, 2014 – UR Medicine’s Strong Memorial Hospital has been recognized by The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. This designation, which has only been conferred on two other hospitals in New York State, places UR Medicine among an elite group of institutions that provide highly-specialized complex stroke care. This certification also coincides with the launch of a new program dedicted to providing intensive care to patients with severe neurological disorders such as stroke.

Castle Connolly Names 370 Physicians at NYU Langone Medical Center “Top Doctors: New York Metro Area”
Feburary 10, 2014 –NYU Langone Medical Center today announced 370 of its physicians were recognized among the leading doctors in the region by Castle Connolly in their 17th ediction of “Top Doctors: New York Metro Area.” Each year “Top Doctors: New York Metro Area” identifies the top 10 percent of primary care and specialty doctors in the metropolitan New York region.

Price Family Foundation Funds Research Collaboration Between Einstein and University of Oklahoma
February 4, 2014 – When the foe is a disease-causing microbe, identifying the structure of its component proteins can greatly aid efforts to kill or disable it. Research to gain this knowledge will be bolstered by a $3 million grant from The Price Family Foundation. The gift to Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and the University of Oklahoma funds a research collaboration to investigate the structural biology of the key proteins of anaerobic microorganisms (those that don’t use oxygen).
