Meet New York State’s Newest Doctors: Maurice Selby

My name is Maurice Selby and I am a tried and tested New Yorker as I have lived in every borough of New York City. A product of the New York City public school system, I attended the City College of New York for my undergraduate education and I recently graduated from the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. New York is my home and although I have lived in this state nearly all of my life, there is still so much more for me to learn here. Looking at the diversity of people and places in this state, I believe I am developing a world view that will undoubtedly complement the knowledge and skills I will attain as a Resident Physician in the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Kings County Hospital Center. At these institutions, I will care for individuals whose backgrounds are very similar to my own; rife with barriers to prosperity. My chosen specialty will enable me to serve in my community in many capacities.
