Health Care Reform and the 'Doctor Shortage'

In response to another article in The New York Times titled “Doctor Shortage Likely to Worsen With Health Law” by Annie Lowrey and Robert Pear, Professor Uwe E. Reinhardt examines the actual meaning of the “doctor shortage” and raises some questions surrounding the issue in this New York Times Economix blog.

“At its extreme, this argument is amplified by the prediction, reportedly based on opinion surveys, that large numbers of practicing doctors will hang up their shingles in despondent response to the law…”
