There are 25 U.S. patents relating to Dr. Blaser’s research, with the most recent ones focusing on methods for diagnosis and/or treating skin conditions, bone disorder and obesity by characterizing and restoring mammalian bacterial microbiota. He has authored over 500 original articles and a book, “Missing Microbes: How the Overuse of Antibiotics Is Fueling Our Modern Plagues.”
