Diversity and Multicultural Affairs Committee Description

The mission of the Assocaited Medical Schools of New York (AMSNY) Committee on Diversity and Multicultural Affairs (CDMA) is to provide leadership and expertise within the consortium, New York State, and nationally, to promote diversity and inclusion as a means to achieve academic and institutional excellence.

CDMA accomplishes their mission by:

1) developing and supporting pipeline programs to increase the pool of students from economically and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds and groups historically underrepresented in medcine;

2) developing minority faculty development programs;

3) serving on other AMSNY committees;

4) advocating at the local and national levels to support diversity initiatives endorsed by the AMSNY.
